LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
After completing Part 4, officers will be able to:
- Understand the importance of adopting a neutral, objective, and professional tone.
- Establish the critical nature of grammar, word choice, factuality, and implication to truly reflect the survivor’s experience.
- Improve documenting details of who, what, what, when, and where particularly in sexual assault cases.
- Develop the report by using the victim’s language and accurately documenting statements, events, emotions, feelings, and senses while corroborating with what the officer observed.
